JAMES MEREDITH

Picture
James Meredith was supposed to be a student at Ole Miss University...or at least that's what he thought. Meredith was not allowed admittance to the school after his application was accepted. Protests and demonstrations outside the school, along with calls to Governor Ross Barnett by President Kennedy, Meredith was later admitted and desegregated Ole Miss University.
