Martin Luther King, Jr played a highly important role in the Civil Rights Movement. King was a minister in Georgia and practiced the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. King's nonviolent approaches spead over the country and was the basis for demonstrations and protests. King is most famous for the March on Washington, where he made his iconic "I Have a Dream Speech". King was assassinated in 1968.
